How to get to Southern Ocean Retreats?

The easiest way is via self-drive along Main South Road (90 minutes from Adelaide). Click to see the "how to get here" page. Alternative options include a daily bus service from Adelaide to Cape Jervis or direct transfers from Adelaide Airport. Please contact us for more details.

Is the accommodation self-contained?

Yes, all our accommodation is fully self-contained. For more information check the accommodation section.

Does Southern Ocean Retreats provide Bed and Breakfast?

Depending on which cottage you choose, linen and breakfast provisions are either included in the tariff or can be purchased as an optional extra (for details please refer to the accommodation section).

Do I need a 4WD to access Deep Creek?

No. The Park generally has good roads which provide easy access to most areas. 4WD vehicles are only required for parts of Blowhole Beach Rd and Boat Harbor Rd.

Can I visit Deep Creek Conservation Park all year round?

Yes. The Park is open throughout the year.

Do I have to share my accommodation?

No. You will enjoy sole occupancy of your cottage. Combined with the location of our accommodation in different areas of the park, this ensures you will enjoy a peaceful and private stay.

How difficult are the walks in Deep Creek Conservation Park?

Each walk in the Park is graded as either easy, moderate or hard. Walking trails are well maintained and sign posted with estimated times required for each available from the information booklet in you cottage or the Park Headquaters. There are a choice of walks ranging from a 20 minute stroll along the stringybark trail to the more demanding circuit walk for the experienced bushwalker.

Will I need a guide?

This depends on your own needs. If you want to obtain a feel for the Park and its attractions a self-led walk may be sufficient. Those wishing more detail on the Park's history, flora and fauna can undertake a guided tour. Please ask us for details.

How isolated is Deep Creek Conservation Park?

Although Deep Creek Conservation Park offers an unspoilt backdrop in a semi-wilderness environment you can obtain a range of services including general groceries, petrol, newspapers, post office, telephone etc at Delamere, a small township approximately 15 minutes away. A full range of other services such as restaurants, shops, banks etc are within a 20-30 minute radius.
